Editorial Policy and Submission Guidelines
As editorial policies go, ours is on the mellow side. We accept articles and essays on the following subjects:
Fiction, poetry, essays, criticism, opinion, deconstruction, humor, museums, curating, dance, home and/or office décor, household hints, communications, advertising, health and fitness, etiquette, gardening, urban living, culture, kultcha, film, cars, theater, biographies, profiles, food reviews, internet culture, technology, writing on art, music, fashion, design, architecture, travel, history, sports, software/hardware reviews, politics, business, economics, current events (which might not be so current when it gets to press, but, oh well), interviews, DYI, cooking, sex, science, and whatever got left off this list.
We are willing to consider almost anything that is well written, which would include being well thought out and properly researched. We will request that errors be corrected, but that would not be the sole basis for rejecting a piece. The basis for rejecting work is if it fosters hatred of any stripe, contains hate-speech, neo-nazi, neo-confederate, and subject matter that our Editors consider obscene, which would really be out there because we feel we are very tolerant people and have a very tolerant readership.
Essays and articles can be 300 to 3,000 words long. If you have one already written, please contact us about sending it in. If you have an idea for an LHLS essay, you might want to run it by us to get some idea of where it would fit in our publishing schedule and your writing schedule. At the moment we are not accepting unsolicited poetry and fiction, but that might change in the future. We're leaving that up to the Poetry and Fiction editor.

Submission Guidelines
According to dictionary.com, ontology is "The branch of metaphysics that deals with the nature of being". We know our readers are busy, intelligent people who still take the time to think beyond the surface of their daily lives. We hope to bring you a journal that aids that endeavor in a pleasant fashion.
Please send the first 300 words in the body of an email to ginger@liheliso.com and attach the complete essay as an MS Word or RichTextFormat file.
Suggested length for essays is 300-3,000 words. Longer essays will be considered, but might be serialized over more than one issue.
