The Hackenblog has moved to http://hackenblog.hackenbush.org/ or www.hackenblog.com.Please update your links, thank you.[Previous entry: "Art Geeks ahoy"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "So, Schwarzengger was supposed to save us money?"] 08/24/2006 Entry: "Don't wipe your hard drive or the RIAA will git you" Helpful hints for the way we live now: Don't wipe your hard drive or the judge in San Antone will find you guilty of being in possession of something you no longer have: "In Arista v. Tschirhart, in San Antonio, Texas, the judge awarded judgment to the RIAA because the defendant -- in violation of a court order directing her to produce her computer's hard drive for inspection -- had the hard drive 'wiped' first, thus deleting song files that had been downloaded. The court noted that this "wiping" irreparably prejudiced the RIAA because the only evidence it had without the hard drive was 'scant and piecemeal.'" Um... The RIAA isn't just out for blood, they're getting it. Posted by GM Replies: 1 Comment I wonder if this would work for other *crimes*? "Judge, the defendent had a bag full of stolen diamonds, but they have since disappeared." Posted by Seth Anderson @ 08/24/2006 04:54 PM PST
