In fact, some of them may end up paying a little more for their landscapers and restaurant meals. In other words, these voters saw the minimum wage as a moral or 'values' issue. They decided that restaurant meals don’t taste all that good when they’re served by people who have trouble feeding themselves." Posted by GM Replies: 1 Comment My theory is that you can always pass an initiative raising the minimum wage if you can get the thing on the ballot. The people who vote can't imagine that anyone has to live on such a pittance -- and very few of them are restaurant owners or others who actually pay out the minimum wage. So these ordinances are a slam dunk when put to a popular vote. Good thing too. Posted by janinsanfran @ 11/10/2006 10:09 PM PST
