Oddly, the first version of Rashomon I saw was the disaster with Paul Newman as a Mexican bandito and, at the time I thought it was more about the fragility of the male ego more than the fragility of reality. I have now seen the real Rashomon and it's amazing and awe inspiring , but it's about the fragility of the male ego more than the fragility of reality. No wonder Japanese women invented yaoi: their men deserve each other. Sorry, gang, I could not find a decent Rashomon clip at YouTube. If I find one, I'll post it.
