The fabulous Mabel King as the Wicked Witch of the West Well, I finally watched The Wiz. I have a couple of thoughts, mainly because it sucked very much. Mabel King is a genius as the Wicked Witch of the West, and dear God, wasn't there a better director for this than Sidney Lumet? And I like Sidney Lumet, but this sucked. A lot. My other thought is where is the Asian or Latino version? Where? I need them both. Okay, I just watched Dog Day Afternoon and Network, so we know Sidney Lumet can direct, he just couldn't direct the mess that is "The Wiz." Meh. Oh well. It's probably all Diana Ross's fault somehow.
