Whither Webcomics?

"It's my sincere belief that in ten years entire cottage industries will exist that do nothing but analyze the psychology behind horrible webcomics."
Zack "Geist Editor" Parsons, Something Awful, February 2, 2004

"Hey, why wait ten years?"

33. ...yawn

And no LJ explanation of this comic. Maybe there is a God after all.

34. ...shudder

"And the final Problematic (III), set in 1992, starts this Saturday. When this one's over, we'll jump to the present day."
FHLJ, May 10, 2004

I guess this concludes Sandra's simplistic presentation of her even simpler moral concept of the universe. Too bad those psychos, all of them, at Abu Ghraib prison didn't have little badly drawn angels on each shoulder, helping them decide that sexually humiliating prisoners of war is wrong. However, if one does subscribe to the Sandra school of moral thought, one would never develop the capacity to determine right from wrong in the context of an abstruse webcomic with the depth of a Petri dish. There's more to making moral decisions than deciding to do what your wife tells you to do, no matter how pussy-whipped her Padma is.

Which brings me to another thought on the Sandraverse: why are all her men gay or impotent? And by impotent I mean powerless and ineffectual, they can probably get it up on a regular basis, but that's only a measure of manhood in the Sandraverse. Because I've only been thinking about this for the past five minutes, I haven't decided if Sandra loathes or fears heterosexual men; she's certainly given them a short shrift in this comic because they're bums, losers and Satanists. If this is her contempt, it's unimpressive, however, if this is her fear; then it is the false bravado of a true coward who mocks from a safe distance. Yes, men are poltroons in the Sandraverse, but even her puny mockery is without depth or meaning. Sandra's men are as weak as her ability to conceptualize them, and is probably due to lack of exposure to men. Whether she avoids them because she doesn't like them or vice versa, the outcome of this lack of knowledge is more and more evident in her webcomics. Her men are mules, it's not even necessary for her to castrate them, even if she could.
